Since its inception around a decade ago, imitation cliosonne has been used as a substitute for genuine cloisonne a great deal of the time, die to its lower cost, and much more extensive pallet of colors to choose from.  PMS matching is available.  This process still maintains the shiny, smooth surface known to genuine cloisonne, the bright colors still possess a jewelry like feel.
